In collaboration with NYSEG and The American Legion, Friends of the Feral-TNR is hosting an outdoor Chicken BBQ at The American Legion Post-259 on Chestnut Street in Oneonta on Saturday, August 10th, starting at Noon until the food is gone!

NYSEG has generously donated $1,000 and will also contribute $15 for each volunteer who helps with the event.

A complete BBQ chicken meal is available for $14, and chicken halves for $8. While it’s primarily a carry-out event, you are welcome to enjoy your meal indoors. There will be drawings for prizes and a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds benefiting Friends of the Feral-TNR in their ongoing efforts to humanely address the feral cat population in Otsego County. This includes covering veterinary expenses for treating and caring for sick or injured feral kittens.

In addition to the festivities, Friends of the Feral-TNR has been diligently working behind the scenes, achieving significant milestones such as obtaining 501c3 status from the IRS and exploring grant opportunities. Moreover, the organization is actively addressing the feral cat overpopulation issue, organizing an all-day Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) operation to transport over two dozen feral cats to The Animal Care Sanctuary in Milan, Pennsylvania.

With a growing membership exceeding 600 individuals, Friends of the Feral-TNR remains firm in its mission to compassionately manage Otsego County's feral cat population.

For further information about the event, call Traci at 607-242-4734.
