The Junior League of Binghamton is hosting a fun book fair as part of the Vestal Festival on Saturday, June 7th,. All of the money raised through the book fair will help fund their Food Recovery and Prepared Meal Truck Project- this will help provide FREE hot and prepared meals to those in need in our community.

What is the Junior League of Binghamton

Junior League of Binghamton is the local chapter of the Association of Junior Leagues International. Since its founding in 1901 by social activist Mary Harriman, The Junior League has become one of the oldest, largest, and most effective women’s volunteer organizations in the world.

This encompasses  more than 150,000 women in 292 Leagues in four countries. For more than a century, The Junior League has been on the forefront of social reform, identifying problems including pollution, illiteracy, domestic violence, foster children without a safety net.

They want to find solutions, while helping women to do a world of good. For more information about the local chapter of the Binghamton Junior League, check out their Facebook page for upcoming events, fundraisers and to see some of their past efforts to help our community.

Just a few of their other upcoming fundraisers include their Smoke & Sip: Cigar, Whiskey & Wine Tasting event tomorrow, Friday June 6th, Chef Showdown: Cookin’ Up for a Food Truck on Thursday, June 12th, and Bunco & Bubbles on Sunday June 15th. Proceeds fund their Food Recovery and Prepared Meal Truck, rescuing surplus food from local establishments and turning it into free, nourishing meals for those in need.

The National Women's Hall of Fame is located in Upstate New York's Seneca Falls and celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of American women.

Tour Seneca Falls - Birthplace of Women's Rights

In July of 1848, the Seneca Falls Convention, the first women’s rights convention ever to be held in the United States was held in Seneca Falls, New York. That convention would change the course of history for women's rights, including being the foundation of the fight for women to be given the right to vote.
