Some really good local news out of Norwich. NBT Bank just handed over a substantial check to the United Way of Mid Rural New York, and that money is staying right here in our region.

NBT Bank donates $190,000 to United Way

NBT Bank gave a total of $190,000 to support United Way programs that help families with things like education, health care, and financial stability across Chenango, Delaware, Madison, and Otsego counties.

Half of that money came straight from NBT employees who decided to donate through their annual United Way campaign. The bank matched those donations dollar for dollar.

This money helps local families in real ways

United Way supports over 40 different programs across the area. That includes things like the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, microloan programs, and dental care that many families rely on.

With so many people feeling the financial strain right now, this funding helps make sure those local services can keep going.

The campaign is still going strong

With NBT Bank’s contribution, United Way has now reached 67 percent of its overall fundraising goal of $562,900. The campaign continues through the end of December, and every dollar raised helps strengthen programs here at home.

A big donation with big impact

This is one of those feel good reminders that when local businesses and employees step up together, it makes a real difference. That $190,000 will help neighbors, families, and kids across our communities get the support they need, when they need it most.
