There are some ways to thank a veteran that may seem small, but mean more than we’ll ever know. A warm blanket is one of them.

As someone from a military family who has spent much of my life supporting veterans, this one matters a lot to me. The Guardian Belles Artemis Chapter is collecting at least 250 lap-sized blankets for veterans who will be served at Clear Path for Veterans this Veterans Day.

Clear Path for Veterans anticipates serving lunch to 250 veterans on Veterans Day this year. The goal is simple and heartfelt: make sure every veteran who attends leaves with a blanket of their own.

Southern Tier Blanket Drive Needs 250 Lap-Sized Blankets

The Artemis Chapter’s annual blanket drive supports veterans and children, and this year’s veteran blanket collection will benefit Clear Path for Veterans.

At least 250 lap-sized blankets are needed to match the number of veterans expected for the Veterans Day lunch. Whether you sew, crochet, knit, or pick up a new blanket while you’re out shopping, your donation can give a veteran something warm to take home.

It’s an easy way to show someone from our community who served our country that their sacrifice is still seen and appreciated.

Clear Path for Veterans Plans Veterans Day Lunch

Clear Path for Veterans provides support and services for veterans, military members, and their families. The Veterans Day lunch will bring together hundreds of veterans, and the blankets collected through this drive will be presented to those attending.

Veterans Day is about more than a quick “thank you for your service.” It’s about finding real ways to show up for the people who have given so much. This blanket drive is one of those ways.

How to Donate a Blanket for Veterans

The Guardian Belles Artemis Chapter is asking the community to donate new lap-sized blankets. If you’d like to help, you can contact the chapter at ArtemisGBLERC@gmail.com for donation and drop-off information.

One blanket may not seem like much, but 250 blankets can send a powerful message to 250 veterans: you matter, you are appreciated, and your community has not forgotten you.
